Weight Watchers Spaghetti Sauce (OR Sloppy Joes!)

I grew up LOVING sloppy joes, but I try to stay away from bread nowadays. So I took a Weight Watchers Sloppy Joes recipe (did not change a thing!) and just threw it over it over gluten free pasta. So, feel free to take this recipe and make spaghetti or sloppy joes!

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp canola oil

  • 2 onions, chopped

  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 tbsp ground cumin

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 lb ground skinless turkey breast (I used ground turkey)

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 2 tbsp packed dark brown sugard

  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Sloppy Joes require: 6 hamburger rolls

  • Spaghetti requires: pasta of your choice

Instructions

  1. In a large nonstick skillet, heat the oil.

  2. Saute the onions, pepper, and garlic until softened.

  3. Stir in the cumin and chili powder. When the vegetables are coated with the spices, stir in the turkey. Break apart the meat with a wooden spoon (about 3 minutes).

  4. Add the ketchup and brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Cook until the sauce is thick and the meat is cooked through.

  5. Optional:

  6. Cook the rolls if desired if making sloppy joes.

  7. Cook the pasta if making spaghetti.
