CrockPot Hamburgers

As someone who does not use a grill, this was a great alternative for me. I leave the grilling up to my husband. But, I thought that cooking hamburgers this way allowed them to retain their juices and moisture.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 package of ranch dressing

  • 1/2 tbsp of dried minced onion

  • 3/4 tsp of Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 cup of gluten free panko bread crumbs

  • hamburger buns or tomato slices (to substitute for buns)

  • Burger toppings of your choosing:

  • Lettuce

  • Tomatoes

  • Banana Peppers

  • Ketchup

  • Mustard

  • Cheese

  • Onions (Caramelized are my fav!)

Directions:

1. Crumple up several sheets of aluminum foil into boils. Place in the bottom of your crock pot. Your burgers will sit on the foil and this will also allow the grease to drain.

2. Pour the water at the bottom of the crockpot.

3. In a bowl, mix your ground turkey or beef, the egg, Worcestershire sauce, ranch dressing mix, onion, Italian seasoning, and breadcrumbs. Form this mixture into 3-inch or so patties. Put 1 layer of burgers into your crockpot.

4. Take 3 pieces of foil and fold them into 1-inch wide strips. Lay these over the first layer of burgers in a star-shaped pattern. Layer your second layer of burgers. (Repeat if necessary).

5. Cover the crock pot and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or cook on HIGH for 2-2.5 hours.

6. Assemble your burgers with your selected toppings.
